Recent details have emerged about the tragic deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates citing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

Upon entering the house, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family questioned several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally refuted published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
