Much like bad weather tore through the northwest the prior day, the home side overwhelmed the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Defeats for United

This outcome signalled back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the top team with their trophy ambitions severely dented.

The Red Devils' capability to manage league and continental football with a limited roster has been a frequently analyzed subject since they earned a place in the Champions League.
