Far-Right Former Lawmaker José Antonio Kast Voted In as Chile's Next Leader.
In a decisive second-round vote, hardline politician José Antonio Kast has won the presidency in Chile.
A Commanding Triumph
With over 99% of votes tallied, Kast secured 58.17% of the ballots, defeating leftist former minister Jeannette Jara, who received 41.83%.
This represents Kast's third presidency, having in the past been beaten by the sitting president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 runoff.
Campaign Centered On Law and Order and Immigration
